The Road Home: A requiem for those we love
This October concert begins another year of journey on The Road Home with Harmonia. Most people experience a home base in their life, while others are often on the road. Yet, in all situations, there is also a longing for a road home that settles us and is, eventually, eternal.
The music of this opening concert offers a journey full of glimpses and foretastes to such a home. We will hear exquisite music of medieval chant, Renaissance, Baroque, modern, and contemporary music, including Monteverdi, Schütz, Bach, Rheinberger, Elgar, Paulus, and Shawn Kirchner. The Road Home entices the listener to explore and deepen their own road home.
