Into Light: a concert by candlelight

Sat, March 11, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, St. Peter Church 620 Center St, Lewiston

Sun, March 12, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Assumption Church 435 Amherst St, Buffalo

The Harmonia Chamber Singers present their annual Into Light concert, featuring music from the Medieval period through the present. Stunning candlelight and lighting effects enhance the music of light and life, suffering and hope, time and space, Lent and Easter. In what has become a beautiful visual and aural experience, you will hear works including McGlynn’s Media vita, Byrd’s Civitas sancti tui, Bruckner’s Locus iste, Lasso’s Surrexit pastor bonus, Esenvalds’ Stars, Gorecki’s Szeroka Woda (Broad Waters), Koepke’s Follow the Drinking Gourd, Gibbs’ Great Day, and Jasperse’s Abide With Me.

Harmonia is also excited to present the world premiere of Leonardo Schiavo’s Lullaby. And, with generous support from the Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius College, Harmonia will perform gorgeous works of Polish composers.
